Which decisions do you make based on which feeling or emotion? Which emotions shape your life? Emotional intelligence is about your self-image, assertiveness and knowing how to use this meaningfully in relation to others. Recognising emotions, emotion regulation and stress management. This can be developed to a large extent. It is not about reaching the highest attainable, but about recognising balance. Sometimes less is actually 'better'. Emotional intelligence is measurable ('assess')! By discussing the test results with the EQ-i 2.0 coach and exploring the context and goals ('predict') together for their realistic, motivating and intrinsic value, you can develop it under guidance ('perform').
Ten years ago people still looked askance at the meaning and value of emotions in business, education, healthcare, government and so on. Now no one can ignore it. The most important competencies in (personal) leadership are found within those of emotional intelligence. It comprises a set of emotional and social skills that are essential for a happy and contented life. The often-used 'successful' life was, until recently, always measured by (power) position, financial wealth and intense exercise. But many do not achieve that, may be chronically ill, yet experience a meaningful life.
