For coaches and professionals in a helping role: supervision for personal and professional development
Supervision programme at a reduced rate; hours count towards certification*
Do you want to work on your own professional growth? Supervision is of great importance for this.
The importance of supervision is beautifully put by Erik de Haan, co author of the book ‘Supervision, a guide for supervisees’: “Just as it is healthy for leaders to expose themselves to coaching, just as it is of great importance for experienced professionals to keep their body and mind sharp and fit, so it is vital for every professional in a helping role to regularly ‘submit’ (because that is often how it feels) to trusted and reliable supervision with a truly independent, sharp yet compassionate, dedicated yet demanding supervisor”. In May this year I started the two year training to become a supervisor. The training, with EISA certification, was specially developed by the NOBCO and Tom Battye. In order to get to work as a supervisor in training myself, I am looking for coaches and other professionals in helping roles to grow further, over a number of conversations, in your profession and as a person.
What supervision is:
The form of guidance called ‘supervision’ is still relatively unknown in the Netherlands. Supervision does, however, offer a broader scope, in which the knowledge and experience of the supervisor can be actively brought in. The conversations are based partly on supervision models, including the ‘Seven eyed model’ (Hawkins, Shohet, Ryde and Wilmot).
Supervision according to the #EMCC: The European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC), which is connected to the NOBCO and the training, provides the following information about supervision:

Tom Battye (trainer) warmly recommends this opportunity:
“I am delighted to working with 25 highly experienced coaches, all of which are SP or MP level. Many of them already have supervision skills and supervision practice, but have undertaken this training project to formalise their accreditation. I recommend every single one of them. Please take advantage of this special (once in a lifetime) opportunity to receive supervision on your coaching practice”
The NOBCO: ‘The training offers a unique opportunity to [among others] other NOBCO coaches to get to know supervision. This experienced colleague supports you with things you run into in your practice and helps you grow in your profession. A valuable, tailored investment’.
