Where are the jobs?

Although the number of unemployed people is rising, there are sectors where companies are crying out for motivated employees. New professions are also emerging, or there is demand for specific expertise, such as IT specialists who can prevent cybercrime (source: NRC Next).

The advice is to stay well informed about changes in the market(s). For the first time in six months, the supply of online vacancies rose slightly again in April. In March the supply reached a historic low, but now the index is recovering slightly. Vacancies increased especially in education. Other sectors that recorded a rise are transport and logistics, manufacturing, hospitality and tourism, the agricultural sector and healthcare. The number of online vacancies fell in the administrative sector and in marketing and PR. In most sectors, however, the supply of vacancies is lower than in April 2011.
